Purpose
We are the Judo Club at William & Mary, aiming to grow Judo on our campus. We are an enthusiastic group of students, focused on building a community of judoka and embracing the Gentle Way. We place a large emphasis on self-defense and technique. Judo is designed to maximize your efficiency for you.

What is Judo?
Judo is a Japanese martial art that began in 1882. There are multiple levels of Judo: recreational (for fun), competitive (compete in tournaments), and Olympic. Judo is an Olympic sport - search for it at the Paris Olympics this summer!
Judo incorporates takedowns with groundwork and general self-defense, but don't worry! The first thing you learn is how to fall!

What We Do
We work closely with the community, running self-defense clinics for the college, attending and hosting tournaments with other schools and the greater Judo community, as well as attending and hosting clinics with international competitors.
